Next year (2012) we will mark 75 years of our work in the fields of milk, cooperative democracy, housing and community development. In the mid-1980s the city’s in rem crisis had subsided. As many of our readers will recall, the “quick vesting” law of 1976 brought tens of thousands of distressed multi-family units into city ownership. It was a challenge unprecedented in the history of the city and one that was managed with extraordinary vision and innovation.
